ETERNITY – Where will you be?

·         Do you know if you were to die, where you would spend eternity?

·         Do you believe what the Bible say’s about God? Jesus? Heaven and Hell?

·         Can I tell you how you can “Know for Sure” that you will spend eternity in Heaven with God when you leave this Earth?

If you don't know whether you have been saved or not, listen very carefully to easy facts:

1. Heaven is a free gift.

Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord"

2. You cannot earn your way to Heaven.

Ephesians 2: 8-9 " For by grace are ye saved through faith and not of yourselves, it is the gift of God.  Not of works, lest any man should boast."

Grace is getting something good you don’t deserve.

GRACE: God’s Remedy At Christ’s Expense

3. The reason is Man is a Sinner.

Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God"

4. God is merciful but he must punish sin.

Ezekiel 18:4 "The soul who sins must die"

                        Lucky for us,

1 John 4:8 "God is Love"

And has made a way of escape through Jesus Christ.  Who exactly is Jesus?

5. Jesus

            John 1:1-14 (excerpts)

In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God.. and the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.

Jesus is God’s own Son and he gave his life on the Cross and rose again the third day for the atonement of our sins.

            1 Peter 3:18

“For Christ also hath once suffered for us, the just of others unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quicken by the Spirit.”

1 Corinthians 15:4

“And that he was buried and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.

How do we go from knowing about Jesus to Knowing Him as our Savior?

6. Faith and asking

            Romans 10: 10, 13

"For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation"

"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved"

            Rev. 3:20

“Behold I stand at the door, and knock; if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and sup (fellowship) with him and he with Me.”

            John 14:6

“Jesus saith unto them, I am the way, the truth and the life; no man cometh unto the Father but by Me.”

You can receive the free gift of eternal life.  But as with any other gift, it is not yours until you accept it.  You can accept His gift of eternal life by going to him in prayer right now and asking him to save you.

SAMPLE PRAYER:

            Dear Lord Jesus,

I know I am a sinner and do not deserve eternal life.  But, I believe you died and rose to purchase a place for me in Heaven.  Lord please forgive me of my sins, come into my heart and save me and take control of my life.  I now place my trust in You for my salvation.  Thank you for the gift of eternal life.    AMEN.

            Luke 15:10

Jesus said “Likewise I say unto you there is joy in the presence of angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.”

I, _____________________________ accepted Christ as my savior, this day, __________________ in the presence of ____________________ (Witness Signature) and do hereby pledge to follow Him all the day of my life by professing Him as savior, studying and following His Word, Praying, fellowshipping with other believers  and giving to His ministry as He leads me.

Why the prayer of salvation?

Similar to marriage, you can know the person and even dedicate your life to them, but you’re not married until you make that verbal commitment, usually in the presence of others.  Likewise, Salvation comes when you make that verbal commitment to the Lord asking him to come into your heart, save you and be the Lord of your live.  By this, you enter into a covenant (committed) relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.

What happens if you decide NOT to accept Christ as your Savior?

            Luke 16:22-24

“And it came to pass that the beggar (Lazarus) died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom; the rich man also died, and was buried;

And in hell he lifted up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.”

Two ways to miss Heaven

A.      Death

Revelation 20:14-15

“And death and hell was cast into the lake of fire.  This is the second death”

“And whosoever was not found written in the Book of life was cast into the lake of fire”

B.     Rapture of Christians

1 Thess 4:16, 17

“For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the arch-angel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:”

“That we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever with the Lord.

What happens if you decide to accept Christ as your Savior?

You become a child of the living God - Eternal life and peace

            John 1:12

“But as many as received Him (Christ), to them gave he the power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name.”

1 Cor 5:8

“We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.”

            Romans 8:16

“The Spirit himself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God.”

If you would like to accept Christ as your savior, have your name written in the Book of Life and secure your place in Heaven, go back to point 6 above on page 2
As a new Christian, what should I do?

  1. Make a public profession of faith

Matthew 10:32

“Whosoever, therefore, shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before My Father, who is in heaven.”

  1. Be identified with the Lord in Baptism

Romans 6:4

“Therefore we are buried with him in baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we should walk in newness of life.”

  1. Pray

Philippians 4:6

“Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication (humble prayer) with thanksgiving let your request be made known unto God.”

  1. Attend church during worship times

Hebrews 10:25

“Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another; and so much the more, as we see the day approaching”

  1. Witness (Tell others about Christ)

Mark 5:19

“Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but said unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee and hath had compassion on thee.”

Matthew 28:19, 20

”Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit”

“Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.”

6. Study the Bible

            2 Timothy 2:15

“Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.”

7.       Tithe

Malachi 3:10a

“Bring ye all the tithes (tenth) into the storehouse (local church), that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing.”
